Hosta 2 - Original Batik Painting.
Large sculptured leaves, tall flower spikes - a Hosta that the slugs and snails can’t devour.
Batik is a complicated technique that originated in the Far East. Dyes and wax are applied to fabric, in this case pure cotton, to build up a detailed image. When the design is complete the wax is removed to reveal the finished painting.
The original piece of fine cotton has been window mounted in off white mountboard, signed by the artist, ready for framing.
Published dimensions include the mount.
